MoDOT: Christian County Route CC and Main Street Interchange Project in Nixa

Focus of Public Meeting September 27

Nixa – Area residents are invited to a public meeting to discuss intersection improvements being evaluated for the intersection of Christian County Route CC, North Main Street & West Cedar Street in Nixa to improve safety and traffic flow, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The come-and-go style meeting will be held 4:30 – 6 p.m., Tuesday, September 27, at Nixa City Hall, 715 W. Mt. Vernon Street, Nixa. No formal presentation is planned. Those who attend may come at any time between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to learn about the project and ask questions.

The meeting will include a 14-day comment period through Tuesday, October 11. Comments can be submitted by email to swcr@modot.mo.gov, an online form found on the online public meeting website, or mailed to the MoDOT Southwest District Office, 3025 E. Kearney St., Springfield, MO 65803, postmarked by Tuesday, October 11.

Project highlights:

  • Proposed improvements under consideration include a signalized intersection or roundabout
  • Pedestrian facilities are part of the intersection analysis
  • Differing traffic impacts will be discussed such as partial closure versus a full closure of the intersection

Construction is planned to start in Summer 2024.

Estimated Total Cost: $3.1 million
