Public input needed for bridge rehabilitation project east of Bosworth

Carroll County Route M Grand River Bridge - public comment period now open

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking public input regarding a planned bridge rehabilitation project on the Carroll County Route M Grand River Bridge, east of Bosworth. The project, currently in the design stage, would include preventive maintenance to the bridge’s driving surface as well as repairs to its supporting structures.

The 1,620-foot-long bridge, which carries approximately 300 vehicles per day, was built in 1983, making it nearly 40 old. The measures included in the project will help to extend the bridge’s usable life.

This project is currently scheduled to go out for contractor bids as part of MoDOT’s December 2022 letting, with construction expected during the 2023 construction season. The road will close during the project. At this time, a signed detour is not planned.
