UPDATE - Work to resume at U.S. Route 24/65 south of Carrollton

Ramp from Route 10 to northbound U.S. Route 24/65 to close

ST. JOSEPH, Mo – Work is scheduled to resume at the bridge on U.S. Route 24/65 over Missouri Route 10, Outer Road U.S. Route 24 and the Norfolk Southern Railroad on Wednesday, Aug. 31. This includes closing the adjacent ramp from Route 10 to northbound U.S. Route 24/65.

This work is part of a rehabilitation project which includes six other bridges on Carroll County U.S. Route 24. The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted with Capital Paving and Construction, LLC to complete the bridge rehabilitations.

The bridge, located on the southern edge of Carrollton, will be narrowed to one lane with temporary traffic signals directing motorists through the work zone through mid-December.

The ramp from Route 10 to northbound U.S. Route 24/65 will be closed from Aug. 31 through the end of the bridge rehabilitation. The contractor has placed signs at Richmond, Hardin and Norborne to alert truck traffic of the ramp closure, directing them to seek an alternate route.

Crews will be working five days each week, but the work zone and ramp closure will remain in place around-the-clock. Some work may be completed on Saturdays, if necessary.

The other bridges in the project are currently scheduled for the 2023 construction season. For more information about the bridges included in the project, visit www.modot.org/carroll-county-us-route-24-bridge-rehabilitations.

All work is weather dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
