Public input needed for safety improvement project north of Cameron

DeKalb County U.S. Route 69 at Route EE - public comment period now open

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking public input regarding a safety improvement project on DeKalb County U.S. Route 69 at the Route EE intersection, north of Cameron. The project, currently in the design stage, would add a left-turn lane for northbound motorists on U.S. Route 69 wanting to turn onto Route EE.

To make these improvements, additional right of way will be required on the west side of U.S. Route 69. MoDOT has begun the process of reaching out to affected property owners.

This project is currently scheduled to go out for contractor bids as part of MoDOT’s April 2023 letting, with construction expected during the 2023 construction season. The road will remain open during the project, though some lane closures and delays are to be expected.
