Schedule Changed: Ramp and lane closure scheduled for U.S. 50 and Chipman Rd. bridge replacement project, Aug. 4
JACKSON COUNTY– Crews have rescheduled paving work part of the U.S. 50 and Chipman Rd. bridge replacement project in Lee’s Summit. This work requires the following lane and ramp closures now scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 4. All work is weather permitting.
- Crews will close the exit ramp from Interstate 470 to eastbound U.S. 50. from approximately 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4.
- Crews will close one lane on westbound U.S. 50 at Chipman Rd. from approximately 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 4.
These bridges have reached the end of their service life and must be replaced. In addition to the new bridges, sidewalks will be provided on both sides of Chipman Rd. through the interchange providing new critical connections for pedestrians. Once the bridges are complete, the project will move into Phase 3 will include roadway resurfacing and ADA improvements on Chipman Rd.
This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges Program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state. For full details, visit our project webpage.
