TRAFFIC ALERT: Nighttime Traffic Slowdown/Stop on U.S. Route 60 (James River Freeway) In Springfield

June 22 & 23 For Sign Installation Work

What: East and westbound U.S. Route 60 (James River Freeway) traffic slowed and possibly stopped for a short period of time east of Glenstone Avenue

When: Beginning at 9 p.m. and lasting up to 15 minutes on Wednesday & Thursday nights, June 22 & 23

Details: Contractor crews to install truss and sign over Route 60 in Springfield. Crews will also remove the temporary barrier walls on Route 60 Wednesday-Friday, June 22-24 during nighttime hours. This is part of the U.S. ROUTE 60 (James River Freeway) Widening Project. For more information about this project, click here.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Law enforcement officers slowing and stopping east and westbound Route 60 traffic for a short period of time
  • Crews will remove the temporary barrier walls on Route 60 Wednesday-Friday, June 22-24 during nighttime hours
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes. No signed detours are planned.
  • Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
