HANNIBAL, MO – The new Grassy Creek Bridge on Route J in Lewis County is now open after closing for replacement in December 2021. This is the third bridge to be completed under the Fixing Access to Rural Missouri (FARM) Bridge Program, a design-build contract that will replace 31 poor condition bridges across northern Missouri. Lehman-Wilson was named the contractor for the program.
Two other bridges are slated to be replaced in Lewis County, both on Route E. “ The one over Sugar Creek is currently under construction, and the next one over Derrah’s Branch will close once the Sugar Creek bridge is completed,” stated Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Amy Crawford.
There are 31 bridges to be replaced under the program; an informational and interactive map, as well as the full list, can be found on the FARM Bridge Program web page.
