One Linn County bridge to open; another closes

Lewis Creek and Smokey Branch FARM bridge projects

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Smokey Branch Bridge on Linn County Route B closed Oct. 25, 2021, for a bridge replacement project. The majority of the work is complete, and the contractor reopened Route B to all traffic on Monday, Feb. 7. Striping should be completed today, Tuesday, Feb. 8.

Also today, as planned, crews closed the 88-year-old Lewis Creek Bridge on Linn County Route 139, approximately 1 mile north of Meadville. It will remain closed through early June 2022. During the closure, motorists must use an alternate route.

Both projects are part of the Fixing Access to Rural Missouri (FARM) Bridge Program, a design-build contract that will replace 31 poor condition bridges across northern Missouri. Lehman-Wilson was named the contractor for the program.

Two other Linn County bridges are also included in the program. View the full list of bridges to be replaced on the FARM Bridge Program web page.
