Linn County Route 139 bridge project to begin Monday

Lewis Creek Bridge project is part of FARM Bridge Program

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – A project to replace the 88-year-old Lewis Creek Bridge on Linn County Route 139, approximately 1 mile north of Meadville, has been rescheduled. The contractor faced several weather-related delays, which pushed back the completion of the Smokey Branch Bridge on Linn County Route B, thereby delaying the start of the replacement of the Lewis Creek Bridge.

With work on Route B nearly complete, crews now plan to close the Route 139 bridge over Lewis Creek to all traffic on Monday, Feb. 7, 2022. It will remain closed through early June 2022. During the closure, motorists must use an alternate route.

This is the third bridge scheduled to be replaced under the Fixing Access to Rural Missouri (FARM) Bridge Program. The full list of bridges to be replaced can be found on the FARM Bridge Program web page.
