Virtual Public Information Meeting Scheduled for U.S Route 50 Improvements

FRANKLIN COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will host a virtual public information meeting to share plans for improvements on U.S. Route 50 from West Outer Independence Rd. to Missouri Route 47.   The meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15 via WebEx.  Attendees can join the virtual public meeting by visiting https://www.modot.org/Route50 and clicking on the virtual public information meeting link under Project Timeline.

The project consists of resurfacing 2.5 miles of Route 50, guardrail and ADA upgrades, and replacing crossroad pipes. Raised shoulders will be converted into sidewalks with curb ramps being upgraded for ADA compliance. In addition, drainage upgrades will be done and existing traffic signals within the project limits will be upgraded. 

No permanent acquisitions are expected for this project. Temporary construction easements (TCE) are expected to rebuild some entrances and the proposed pedestrian facilities.

Construction on this $5.3 million project is scheduled to begin in February 2023.
