JEFFERSON CITY - At its regular monthly meeting today, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission (MHTC) approved a contract to rehabilitate four bridges in Gasconade, Maries and Osage counties.
West Plains Bridge and Grading was awarded a contract to rehabilitate the Route 100 bridge over the Gasconade River in Gasconade County and the Route 42 bridge over the Gasconade River in Maries County. Also included in the contract is the replacement of the bridge deck on the Route 89 bridge over Swan Creek, and the Route 89 bridge over the Gasconade River in Osage County.
The contractor submitted the lowest bid of $3,190,000.
All four bridges are included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state. Each bridge has reached the point where rehabilitation is necessary to extend the life and usability of the bridges.
Work is scheduled to take place in 2022. A start date for work on each bridge has not yet been established. MoDOT will alert the public with updates through signs, news releases and social media. When work begins, occasional lane closures are likely.
