What: Southbound Glenstone Avenue to Eastbound U.S. Route 60 on-ramp CLOSED in Springfield

When: Monday, November 29 until Wednesday, December 8

Details: Contractor crews to install curb and gutter, pave the ramp, and tie the new pavement to the Glenstone Avenue bridge over Route 60 and the Republic Road/Harvard Avenue intersection as part of the U.S. Route 60 (James River Freeway)/Glenstone Avenue Interchange project

Traffic Impacts:

  • Southbound Glenstone Avenue to Eastbound U.S. Route 60 on-ramp CLOSED in Springfield
  • Southbound Glenstone Avenue Open
  • Eastbound Route 60 Open
  • Republic Road/Harvard Avenue intersection Open
  • Detour: Glenstone Avenue to westbound Route 60 to National Avenue interchange to eastbound Route 60
  • DRIVERS ARE URGED TO FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES
  • Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.

Project Facts:

  • Add lane in Route 60 median in each direction between National Avenue & Route 65
  • Consolidate Glenstone and Republic ramps to eastbound Route 60 at Harvard Avenue, remove existing eastbound on ramp near Nature Center Way
  • Build roundabout on Glenstone Avenue at intersection with Nature Center Way/Republic Road
  • Widen westbound Route 60 off ramp to Glenstone Avenue
  • Replace deteriorating pavement on eastbound Route 60 west of Route 65
  • All improvements can be made without needing additional property
  • U.S. Route 60 (James River Freeway)/Glenstone Avenue Interchange Project
