Contrary Creek Bridge Replacement Begins Next Week

OSAGE COUNTY – Contractors working for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will begin the process of replacing the Osage County Route N bridge over Contrary Creek on Wednesday, August 11.

The bridge is located between U.S. Route 50 and Route J, approximately 1.2 miles north of Route 50. The existing Contrary Creek structure was built in 1958 and the condition of the bridge has reached a point where the bridge girders and deck must be replaced.

While work is taking place, Route N will be closed at the bridge until October. Motorists will need to use an alternate route.

This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed. For more information and updates about this project or other transportation-related matters, please call 1-888-ASK-MoDOT (275-6636) or visit www.modot.org/central. Follow the MoDOT Central Missouri District on Facebook and Twitter for project updates.
