Roadway Improvements to Begin in the Hermann Area

HERMANN – A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will begin making pavement improvements to two roadways in the Hermann area next week.

Starting Monday, June 21, crews will begin scour and slide repair work along the side of Route 19/Route 100 just north of the 14th Street intersection. This work will require daily shoulder closures but will not greatly impact traffic.

Crews will also begin improving the pavement on Route 19 between the Missouri River bridge and just south of Route H and Route 100, between Route 19 and just east of Reserve Street. The Route 19 work will require nightly single lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and the Route 100 work will require nightly single lane closures from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Signs will be in place to alert motorists of the lane closures and flaggers and pilot vehicles will be used to guide motorists through both work zones. Drivers will need to slow down and obey all signs in work zones.

The project is expected to be completed by November.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
