MoDOT Releases Details Regarding 2022 Gasconade River Bridge Rehabilitations Project

Public Invited to Comment Online thru June 2

GASCONADE/MARIES/OSAGE COUNTY - Information is now available regarding the rehabilitations of three bridges over the Gasconade River and the Missouri Department of Transportation is inviting nearby residents and travelers to share their thoughts.

The Gasconade County Route 100 bridge, the Maries County Route 42 bridge and the Osage County Route 89 bridge have all reached the point where rehabilitation is necessary to extend the life and usability of the bridges.

The Route 100 bridge will be reduced to one lane during daily working hours with flaggers guiding motorists through the work zone, but both lanes will be open to traffic during non-working hours. The Route 42 bridge will have one lane open to traffic throughout the project and motorists will be guided through the work zone by temporary signals. The Route 89 bridge will be closed to traffic throughout its construction. Gasconade River boat traffic will be limited under all three bridges during their construction.

MoDOT says all closure information will be announced through signs, media releases and social media when a timeline for the project has been established.

This project is expected to begin and be completed in 2022.

Motorists and area residents can ask questions or provide feedback on this project using the digital comment form at modot.org/GasconadeRiverBridges. The online public comment period is open through June 2.

All three bridges are included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
