MoDOT Releases Details Regarding 2022 Rehabilitations of Cooper County Routes M & Z Bridges

Public Invited to Comment Online thru April 20

COOPER COUNTY - Information is now available regarding the rehabilitations of two bridges over Interstate 70 located west of Boonville. The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is inviting nearby residents and travelers to share their thoughts.

MoDOT says the Cooper County Routes M & Z bridges over Interstate 70, built in 1961 and 1962 respectively, are both in need of rehabilitation. The improvements will extend the bridges’ life and usability for the hundreds of travelers that use them each day.

Construction is scheduled to take place in 2022. Work will include deck repairs and new concrete driving surfaces that will improve the smoothness of the road across the bridge.

Both roads will be closed at the bridges while work takes place. Travelers will need to use alternate routes while the project takes place. Specific closures will be announced through signs, media releases and social media when a timeline for work has been established.

Motorists and area residents can ask questions or provide feedback on this project using the digital comment form at modot.org/CooperBridgesOverI70. The online public comment period is open through April 20.
