Baltimore Street Set to Close Temporarily as Improvement Project Begins

MACON – Weather permitting, Thurs., Apr. 8, crews will do their first closure of Baltimore, between Illinois Street and Jefferson Street, in order to begin the improvement project that is taking place. This closure is needed to replace crossroad culverts. The road is expected to be open by Friday evening.

Over the next few months, there will be intermittent closures of Baltimore so that crews can work on the cross culverts that need replaced. All closures are weather dependent and could be rescheduled or delayed. There may also be side street approach closures while this work is completed. Motorists will need to use alternate routes during these time.

The entire project consists of resurfacing, American with Disabilities (ADA) improvements and drainage improvements. Krupp Construction, of Ellisville, Illinois, was awarded the project.

Please obey all work zone signs and personnel. Also, put down your cell phone to help eliminate distractions.
