MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Jackson Street (Missouri Route 14) CLOSED at Night East of U.S. Route 65

in Ozark the Week of March 15

What: Jackson Street (Missouri Route 14) will be CLOSED east of U.S. Route 65 in Ozark

Where/When: 8 p.m. until 6 a.m. Monday – Friday, March 15 – 19 & Monday, March 22

  • Monday & Tuesday, March 15 & 16 
    • Jackson Street (Missouri Route 14) will be CLOSED between 14th Street and 16th Street
  • Wednesday, March 17  
    • Jackson Street (Missouri Route 14) will be CLOSED between 12th Street and 14th Street
  • Thursday & Friday, March 18 & 19 RESCHEDULED to Tuesday-Friday, March 23-26 due to weather
    • Jackson Street (Missouri Route 14) will be CLOSED between 12th Street and Christian County Route NN

Details: Contractor crews to install storm lines under the road as part of the Jackson Street (Missouri Route 14) Widening Project

Traffic Impacts:

  • Both lanes of Jackson Street (Route 14) will be CLOSED lanes between 16th Street and Christian County Route NN east of U.S. Route 65 in Ozark at night
  • Road open during the day
  • Drivers will be able to get to driveways and entrances on either side of the work zones, but will not be able to travel through the work zones
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes. No signed detours are planned.
  • Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work schedule
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

Project Summary:

  • Widen Route 14 to five lanes between 32nd Street west of U.S. Route 65 and the Finley River bridge (two through lanes and a center turn lane)
  • Widen the intersection of Route 14 and Route NN (City of Ozark is sharing in the cost of this part of the project.)
  • Improve sidewalks and traffic signals in various locations
  • Project website: Jackson Street (Route 14) Widening
  • Completion Date: Late July 2021.
  • Prime Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons, Columbia
  • Estimated Project Cost: $9.3 million
