Blue Ridge over Route 78 Bridge Replacement Delayed

JACKSON COUNTY – MoDOT Kansas City’s bridge replacement project of the Blue Ridge Blvd. Bridge over Route 78 in Independence, MO has been delayed due to unanticipated mechanically stabilized earth wall and water main issues. Plans are currently being approved to relocate the water main, and construction on the bridge will begin once the watermain is relocated. Crews anticipate construction will resume in approximately two weeks with an anticipated completion date in spring 2021. All work is weather permitting.

This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.
