MoDOT TRAFFIC ALERT: Missouri Route 14 Scheduled to CLOSE East of U.S. Route 65

in Ozark Friday-Monday, October 2-5

What: Missouri Route 14 scheduled to CLOSE west of 14th Street near the U.S. Post Office in Ozark

When: 9 p.m. Friday, October 2, until 6 a.m. Monday, October 5

Why: Contractor crews installing large box culvert across Route 14

Traffic Impacts:

  • Missouri Route 14 CLOSED west of 14th Street
  • Business entrances and streets will remain open on either side of the closure
  • Signed detour: U.S. Route 65, Christian County Route J and Christian County Route NN
  • Drivers urged to find alternate routes.
  • Electronic message boards located near the planned road work will alert drivers to any changes in the work scheduled

(Weather or construction delays could alter the work schedule.)

Project Summary:

  • Widen Route 14 to five lanes between 32nd Street west of U.S. Route 65 and the Finley River bridge (two through lanes and a center turn lane)
  • Widen the intersection of Route 14 and Route NN (City of Ozark is sharing in the cost of this part of the project.)
  • Improve sidewalks and traffic signals in various locations
  • Completion Date: Late July 2021
  • Prime Contractor: Emery Sapp & Sons, Columbia
  • Estimated Total Project Cost: $9.3 million
