Transportation Alternatives Program – No 2020 Statewide Call for Rural Projects

The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) has historically sought applications for Rural Statewide Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) projects on a cycle of generally every other year when funding is available.  The last call for project applications in 2018 awarded the remaining funding available from the current highway transportation bill, FAST Act, which expires September 30, 2020.

At this time, MoDOT will not be issuing a call for rural TAP project applications.  Should funding become available, either through a continuing resolution of the FAST Act or by passage of a new highway transportation bill, MoDOT will once again issue a notice of available funding and call for applications.  We recognize that TAP is a very popular and competitive program for Missouri’s local agencies as a means to construct alternative transportation projects, and look forward to reinstating the program at the earliest opportunity possible.

This notice does not apply to Local Public Agencies (LPAs) located within the Metropolitan Planning Organization boundaries of OTO, MARC, and East-West Gateway.   Please contact those organizations for questions regarding funding availability.
