East Buchanan High School wins TRACTION Team of the Year

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Students from East Buchanan High School in Gower weren't in it to win 2020 TRACTION Team of the Year. They simply wanted to save lives

Throughout the 2019-2020 school year a team of 12 East Buchanan High School students, and their advisor, worked diligently to promote safe driving habits within their school, community and the northwest Missouri region. Due to their efforts, the school was awarded with a 2020 TRACTION Team of the Year trophy and a $1,000 safety grant to continue their efforts.

The TRACTION program encourages students to take an active role in promoting safe driving practices within their schools and communities. High schools across the state are invited to attend annual summer TRACTION training conferences to the knowledge and the skills needed to develop an action plan to address roadway safety in their local areas. Schools who utilize their action plan can submit a presentation of their education efforts and acomplishments for a chance to receive safety mini-grants for their school.
