Ramp and Culvert Improvements to Take Place on Route 135

COOPER/PETTIS COUNTY – Improvements to the driving surface of a pair of Interstate 70 ramps near Boonville was postponed last week and is now scheduled to start on Monday. The project contractor, working for the Missouri Department of Transportation, will also begin a culvert pipe replacement that will take several days.

The pavement repairs will take place on the eastbound ramps at the Interstate 70 interchange with Route 135. On Monday, July 27, crews are planning to work on the on-ramp and follow with the off-ramp on Tuesday, July 28., This work will require daytime ramp closures. Message boards will be in place to notify motorists, who will need to seek alternate routes.

Crews will also begin the complete replacement of a deep culvert pipe near the intersection of Route 135 and Route 50 east of Sedalia. Route 135 will close to traffic for up to three days beginning Monday, July 27. Motorists will need to use alternate routes.

Both of these work zones are part of a larger project to expand shoulders and improve driving surfaces on Routes 135 and 98. The entire project is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.

MoDOT says the patience of motorists is appreciated. Drivers are advised to watch for crews on the road, slow down and avoid distractions while traveling through work zones.

This work is weather permitting and could be delayed.
