HOWARD COUNTY – Motorists in Howard County will need to seek alternate routes around a bridge construction project that begins next week near the city of New Franklin.
A contractor working for the Missouri Department of Transportation will replace the Howard County Route Z bridge over Bartlett Creek, located west of the Route 87 intersection.
The existing Bartlett Creek Bridge was built in 1952 and, at 67-years-old, has reached a point where a bridge replacement is necessary.
Route Z will close to traffic at the bridge on the morning of Monday, June 29. The road is expected to be closed forup to three months. Motorists are asked to find alternate routes throughoutconstruction.
