Contract Awarded to Improve Roadway Through Bennett Spring State Park

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, in cooperation with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, has approved a contract to apply a preventative maintenance surface sealing treatment, commonly referred to as a chip seal, to various roads within Bennett Spring State Park in Laclede and Dallas counties.

Blevins Asphalt Construction was awarded the contract after submitting the low bid of $189,000.

The work will take place in the summer of 2020 and is a portion of a larger project that will be completed on Routes 32, 64 & 64A which will begin in the spring of 2020. Blevins Asphalt Construction was also awarded the contract for that work, after submitting the low bid of $842,100.

When a start date is established for each project, MoDOT will alert the public through signs, news releases and social media.
