Commission Awards Contracts for Southeast District Projects

SIKESTON – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded contracts for Southeast District projects during its regular meeting on Dec. 4. Awarded contracts include bridge replacements and pavement improvements.

Contracts include the following:

  • A $1,711,312 contract was awarded to Keith Simpson Contracting, LLC., for the following projects on Route D in New Madrid County:
    • A bridge replacement over Drainage Ditch 40;
    • A bridge replacement over Drainage Ditch 3;
    • A bridge replacement over Drainage Ditch 43*, and;
    • A bridge replacement over Drainage Ditch 2*.
  • A $1,259,280 contract was awarded to Penzel Construction, Inc., for the following projects:
    • A bridge replacement on Route 61 in New Madrid County between Conran and Portageville*;
    • A bridge replacement on Route ZZ in New Madrid County .5 miles west of Conran*.
  • A $3,982,995 contract was awarded to Apex Paving Company for pavement improvements on the following routes:
    • Pavement improvements on Route F from Route J to Route 60 in Stoddard County;
    • Pavement improvements on Route CC from Route 51 to Route 53 in Butler County;
    • Pavement improvements on Route JJ from Route 67 to the end of state maintenance in Butler County;
    • Pavement improvements on Route WW from Route J to Route 60 in Stoddard County;
    • Pavement improvements on Route A from Route 21 to the Arkansas state line in Ripley County;
    • Pavement improvements on Route E from Route 142 to the end of state maintenance in Ripley County, and;
    • Pavement improvements on Route H from Route 25 to Route J in Dunklin and Stoddard counties.

*This bridge is included in Gov. Parson’s “Focus on Bridges” program passed by the Missouri General Assembly during its 2019 session. The program appropriated $50 million in state general revenue to fund 45 high priority bridge projects throughout the state.
