Crews Will CLOSE Portion of Delaware St. for Construction Work Near U.S. 24 Beginning Nov. 5

JACKSON COUNTY – As part of the bridge construction work along U.S. 24 over Delaware St. in Independence, MO, MoDOT Kansas City will be closing a portion Delaware St. from approximately St. Charles Street to N. Bess Truman Parkway.  This closure will be on week days from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 5, until approximately Tuesday, Nov. 19. All work is weather permitting.

This project is a total bridge replacement of the U.S. 24 Highway bridge over Delaware St. near the Truman Library.

The goals of this project include replacing the existing structure economically, minimizing traffic impacts along U.S. 24, and providing context-sensitive aesthetic enhancements all while staying within the existing right of way footprint.
