I-70 and I-435 Interchange Construction Continues Next Week with Traffic Switch

JACKSON COUNTY –MoDOT Kansas City will continue construction work at the I-435 and I-70 interchange next week to transition southbound I-435 traffic onto new pavement beginning on Monday, Nov. 4. This work involves various lane and ramp closures. It will have impacts to traffic. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, leave early, or consider an alternate route. All work is weather permitting.

  • Monday, Nov. 4
    • Beginning at 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 4, to 5 a.m. the following morning, crews will REDUCE southbound I-435 to ONE LANE between U.S. Highway 40 and Stadium Dr. in order to switch traffic from southbound I-435 to the brand new pavement.
    • Starting at approximately 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning, crews will also CLOSE the ramp from eastbound I-70 to southbound I-435. This closure is for striping work. Motorists MUST find alternate routes during this time.
