Updated Schedule: I-70 and I-435 Interchange Construction Continues This Week

JACKSON COUNTY –MoDOT Kansas City has added some construction work at the I-435 and I-70 interchange this week. This work involves various lane CLOSURES and a rolling slowdown. It will have impacts to traffic. Motorists are advised to plan ahead, leave early, or consider an alternate route. All work is weather permitting.

  • The left lane of northbound I-435 from Raytown Rd. to Stadium Dr. will be CLOSED for guardrail and overhead truss work beginning on Monday, July 29, through Wednesday, July 31 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
  • The left lane of westbound I-70 from Stadium Dr. to I-435 will be CLOSED for bridge construction beginning on Monday, July 29, through Friday, Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
  • NEW: There will be a rolling slowdown in all directions along both I-70 and I-435 on both Wednesday, July 31 and Thursday, Aug 1, at 7 p.m. These rolling slowdowns should only last about five minutes.

Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
