GRANDVIEW – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be closing lanes of both northbound and southbound Interstate 49 in Jackson County at the Main Street Bridge in Grandview on Wednesday, May 17, from 8 p.m. to the following morning at 5 a.m. for girder setting. Traffic will be diverted up the off ramp and over the Main Street Bridge and back onto I-49. All work is weather permitting.
The project to replace the Main Street Bridge began in March and is scheduled to last through December. Learn more about this project on our website.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
