Lyndon Ebker Memorial Bridge Established

JEFFERSON CITY – The Route 100 bridge over Big Boeuf Creek in Franklin County will forever be known as the Lyndon D. Ebker Memorial Bridge as a result of actions taken Tuesday by Gov. Eric Greitens.

Yesterday afternoon he signed Senate Bill 64, sponsored by Sen. Dave Schatz (R-Sullivan) and co-sponsored by Rep. Justin Alferman (R-Hermann) which memorializes the bridge for Ebker, a 30-year employee of the Missouri Department of Transportation. He was part of a crew working on a bridge in Franklin County on April 7, 2016, when he was struck and killed by an errant driver.

Members of Ebker’s family were present for the bill-signing.

“This is a fitting tribute to a dedicated public servant,” MoDOT Director Patrick McKenna said. “I’d like to thank Gov. Greitens, Sen. Schatz and Rep. Alferman for their leadership and focus on public safety.”

Since 2000, 18 MoDOT employees have lost their lives in the line of duty.
