Traffic Alert: MoDOT Will CLOSE Portions of I-49 at Main Street Bridge in Grandview this Week

GRANDVIEW – The Missouri Department of Transportation will have multiple lane closures on Interstate 49 at the Main Street Bridge beginning Wednesday night, Sept. 13. These lane closures are part of the Main Street Bridge Project. All work is weather permitting.

  • Crews will CLOSE one lane of southbound and northbound I-49 Wednesday, Sept. 13, and Thursday, Sept. 14 beginning at 8 p.m. for guardrail placement.
  • Crews will reduce southbound I-49 to ONE lane beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 15, until 5 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 18. Traffic will be diverted to the outer road and then back onto I-49 via the Main Street ramp. Northbound I-49 traffic will be reduced to ONE lane under the bridge.
  • Crews will have various single lane closures along north and southbound I-49 on both Wednesday, Sept. 20, and Thursday, Sept. 21, to set deck panels.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway. All work zones are NO PHONE zones.
