Bridge Work Scheduled for Cedar Creek Bridge Along I-470 Beginning Jan. 29

JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation will be conducting bridge work along east and westbound Interstate 470 at the Cedar Creek Bridge beginning Monday, Jan. 29, until Friday, Feb. 2. Crews will be working beneath the bridge and no impact to traffic flow is anticipated. There is the potential for contractor vehicles and equipment to be on the shoulders of the interstate. All work is weather permitting.

This is all in preparation for work that will be beginning this spring to repair 15 bridges along I-470 from Blue Ridge Blvd. to the I-70 interchange. The repairs along these bridges will cause severe impacts to traffic over the construction season. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and find alternate routes is necessary once construction begins.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
