MoDOT to Narrow Lanes on I-44 in Franklin County

Work is Part of Reconstruction of Eastbound Bridge over U.S. Route 50

ST. LOUIS – Changes are coming to a section of Interstate 44 in Franklin County. Crews will begin work on Monday, March 19 to narrow and shift traffic lanes on eastbound and westbound I-44 over U.S. Route 50.

One lane will be closed westbound from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. and eastbound from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. so crews can set barrier wall to narrow the lanes. When the lanes reopen, drivers will have two, 10-foot lanes with no inside shoulder on eastbound I-44 and one 11-foot and one 12-foot lane on westbound I-44. The lanes will remain narrowed through late fall 2018. All work is weather permitting.

The work is part of the reconstruction of the eastbound I-44 bridge over Route 50. Drivers can expect daily, off peak lane closures through November. For more information on the project, go to http://www.modot.org/stlouis/major_projects/I44Improvements.htm.
