Portion of Eastbound I-470 to be Reduced to ONE Lane for Emergency Repairs

LEE’S SUMMIT – The Missouri Department of Transportation is reducing eastbound Interstate 470 between Raytown Road and Pryor Road to ONE LANE for (multiple potholes) emergency road repairs-- until further notice. This lane reduction WILL impact traffic significantly. Motorists are strongly encouraged to plan ahead, leave early, and find an alternate route if possible. Look for alternate routes at www.kcscout.net before you leave. Above all, be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at the merge point.  This stretch of I-470 was previously reduced to two lanes as part of the extensive I-470 bridges project to repair 15 bridges along that corridor. All work is weather permitting.

Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
