LEE’S SUMMIT – The Missouri Department of Transportation has rescheduled its plans to reduce eastbound and westbound Interstate 470 to ONE LANE between Three Trails Crossing (Grandview Triangle) and James A. Reed Road. The work will now take place on both Tuesday, June 26, and Wednesday, June 27 from 8 p.m. each evening until approximately 5 a.m. the following mornings.
- Crews will reduce westbound I-470 to ONE LANE between James A. Reed Road and Three Trails Crossing beginning at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 26, until 5 a.m. the following morning.
- Crews will reduce eastbound I-470 to ONE LANE between Three Trails Crossing and James A. Reed beginning at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 27, until 5 a.m. the following morning.
These lane reductions will allow crews to shift traffic to the inside lanes of I-470 to complete the work on the outside portion of the Blue Ridge Blvd. and Kansas City Southern Railroad bridges. Afterwards, this stretch of I-470 will remain reduced to two lanes until approximately August. This work is all a part of the extensive I-470 bridge rehabilitation project that will repair 15 bridges along the I-470 corridor through approximately November 2018. Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at the merge point. All work is weather permitting.
Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
