JACKSON COUNTY – In preparation for returning Interstate 470 near the Three Trails Crossing (Grandview Triangle) back to its original configuration, MoDOT will be reducing I-470 between James A. Reed Road to Three Trails Crossing (Grandview Triangle) to ONE LANE in both directions beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, until approximately 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 20. This lane reduction will allow crews to conduct striping and barrier work to return this portion of I-470 back to its original three lane configuration. This work is all a part of the extensive I-470 bridge rehabilitation project that is repairing over a dozen bridges along the I-470 corridor. All work is weather permitting.
These lane reductions will have impacts to traffic. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and to find an alternate route if necessary. Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at the merge points. Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE zones. Buckle up. Phone down. Arrive Alive.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
