Montgomery County Route JJ Will Close Today at Price's Branch Due to Deterioration

MACON – This morning, Jan. 3, Montgomery County Route JJ will close at Price’s Branch, located 5 miles north of High Hill. Significant deterioration was found on the bridge, so for the safety of motorists, the bridge will be closed.

Price’s Branch is scheduled to be replaced in Spring of 2020, so the bridge will remain closed until that project is completed. Message boards will be in place notifying motorists of the closure.

“After further evaluation, we determined the deterioration had worsened and this is the best action to take until the bridge is replaced,” said District Bridge Engineer Travis Wombwell, P.E.
