Missouri Route 8 and Washington County Routes O and U Intersection Improvements

The intersection of Missouri Route 8 and Washington County Routes O and U in Potosi will  undergo several enhancements in Summer 2020  including traffic signal improvements and the construction of additional turn lanes. Fiber optic installation for traffic signals is also planned for intersections along Routes 8, 21, and E in Potosi. 

The contract for this project was approved by the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission in April, with the low bid awarded to Reinhold Electric, which submitted the low bid of $592,058

Project Details

When: Work is expected to begin Summer 2020 (Details will be announced via traffic signs, social media, this web page and through local media). The contract specifies all work be completed in 90 days or less. 

Cost: $592,058

Work Taking Place: The intersection of Missouri Route 8 and Washington County Routes O and U in Potosi will  undergo several enhancements including traffic signal improvements and the construction of additional turn lanes. Fiber optic installation for traffic signals is also planned for intersections along Routes 8, 21, and E in Potosi. 

Traffic Impact: On average, 4,400 vehicles use Route 8 at this intersection each day. This project will require lane closures with flaggers guiding traffic through the work zone.
