Project Summary
The Missouri Department of Transportation is replacing the northbound and southbound Route 141 bridges over the flood lake in Earth City. The bridges are located between Shoreline Drive and Lakefront Drive. The new bridges will be wider with new guardrails to improve safety.
The project has a construction budget of $2.2 million.
Project Timeline
What construction impacts can drivers expect?
The northbound and southbound bridges will not be closed simultaneously.
Construction will begin on the northbound Route 141 bridge. During construction, the northbound lanes will be completely closed to traffic between Lakefront Drive and Shoreline Drive. Signed detours will be in place. The bridge will take three months to complete.
Once the new northbound Route 141 bridge is open to traffic, the construction of the southbound Route 141 bridge will begin. During construction, the southbound lanes will be completely closed to traffic between Shoreline Drive and Lakefront Drive. Signed detours will be in place. This bridge will take three months to complete.
Route 141 Northbound Detour
Northbound 141 will be closed to through traffic at Lakefront Drive starting March 7, 2023 for 90 days. To view a larger version of this map, CLICK HERE.
During the northbound Route 141 closure, drivers traveling northbound can exit to eastbound 1-70 to northbound 1-270 and take westbound Route 370 to Route 141. --COMPLETE
Route 141 Southbound Detour
Detour for southbound Route 141, which is anticipated to begin summer 2023. To view a larger version of this map, CLICK HERE.
During the southbound Route 141 closure, drivers traveling southbound can take eastbound Route 370 to southbound 1·270 to westbound 1·70 to Route 141. --COMPLETE
