SIKESTON-The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold an open-house community briefing to discuss upcoming bridge replacements in Perry County. The briefing will be held Thursday, March 10 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Perry Park Center, 800 City Park Drive in Perryville.
Projects to replace the Route 61 bridge over Apple Creek and the Route T bridge over Saline Creek will be discussed. Those interested in the projects can stop by anytime between 4 and 6 p.m. to review the plans.
The Route 61 bridge will be replaced through the Safe & Sound Bridge Improvement Program. Work is expected to begin in June with completion anticipated in July.
The Route T project is expected to be awarded to a contractor in February 2012. Construction could begin as early as spring 2012 with completion in fall 2012.
Both bridge replacement projects will involve road closures as improvements are underway.
