Maintenance Management System

The purpose of the Maintenance Management System (MMS) is to create a simplified structure where field personnel and supervisors can easily record all aspects of their work and inventory and display work performed to make better management decisions. Maintenance and traffic managers currently use a number of systems, including FMS, TMS, striping database, MoDOTU, RiskMaster and others, to record the work being done. Without a single reporting system it is difficult to:

  • Get consistent reporting.
  • Consider the impact of large, aging transportation system on operating budget needs.
  • Consider the impact of inflation on operating budget needs.

There is also no consistent method to document work plans and the information on many assets is lacking.

The proposed tiered MMS answers these issues while improving accuracy and offering fleet management and personnel proficiency. MMS eliminates the need for duplicate inventories and data input and promotes data sharing across platforms.

The easy-to-use system offers better integration of many MoDOT systems and more accurate and accessible data with less duplicate effort. Clearer reporting will make it easier to understand needs and budget impacts.
