Interstate 435 Intersection Improvements in Clay and Jackson

What is the goal of this project? 

The goal of this project is to provide a safer stretch of roadway between US 169 Highway and Interstate 435. These changes are necessary due to the anticipated increase in traffic as a result of new development in the area. 

The following improvements will be made; 

• Construct a right-in/right-out access on US-169 at N.W. 128th Street
• Construct two (2) new median crossovers for U-turns north and south of N.W. 128th Street
• Remove US-169 access at N.W. 124th Street. Remove median crossover at N.W. 124th Street
• Extension of Outer Road from N.W. 124th Street to N.W. 128th Street
• Add pedestrian trail along Outer Road from N.W. 128th Street 

Who is performing the work on this project? 

Construction is being performed by JE Dunn and Superior Bowen Asphalt Co. 

How will this project benefit me?

 Safety along this route will be improved with these changes and additions. 

What impact will this project have on traffic? 

There will be minimal impact to traffic.

Crews have closed one lane of northbound and southbound 169 Highway at Interstate 435. 

What is the timeline for this project? 

Work on this project began Monday, Sept. 20 and is expected to be completed Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022.
