The Southeast Coalition for Roadway Safety is one of seven regions of the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety. The coalition is comprised of a diverse group of individuals and agencies located throughout south central and southeast Missouri, dedicated to saving lives and reducing serious injuries from traffic crashes. We focus on education, community outreach and partnerships, enforcement and leadership that advances Missouri’s Strategic Highway Safety Plan. Fire & EMS traffic safety equipment is available to agencies that need resources to further promote roadway safety. This grant is only open to agencies located in the MoDOT Southeast District. View a map of the Southeast District here. The coalition supports four other grants each year: car seats for agencies/organizations with Child Passenger Safety Technicians, community outreach requests, law enforcement traffic safety equipment and funding for high schools that hold a Project Prom or Graduation event. Fire & EMS funding will be awarded to public entities on a case-by-case basis throughout the fiscal year. Grant requests will be reviewed and prioritized based on participation in the coalition. Agencies must have participated in a minimum of four coalition meetings in the previous 24 months to be considered for a grant. Granted equipment to a non-participating agency may be considered in the future, but only after participating agencies have been prioritized. 

While we cannot guarantee we will be able to award all requested items, we do hope to help as much as possible. Grant requests must address at least one element of the Safe Systems Approach outlined in the Strategic Highway Safety Plan. March 31, 2027, is the last day to apply in the current fiscal year.
