Project Summary

From 2022 to 2026, MoDOT has three planned resurfacing projects to address the aging pavement on Caldwell/Daviess County Route 13 between Ray County and Hamilton.

During that same timeframe, the bridge on Caldwell County Route 13 over U.S. Route 36 will be rehabilitated and raised. The current vertical clearance under the bridge is less than 15 feet and the bridge has been struck several times by vehicles traveling on U.S. Route 36. Raising the vertical clearance should aid in preventing future damage from vehicle strikes. The new vertical clearance for westbound traffic will be 15 feet, 11.5 inches and for eastbound traffic it will be 15 feet, 10 inches. (The legal height for vehicles on non-interstate highways is 13 feet, 6 inches. Vehicles taller than that must obtain an oversize permit at modot.org/OSOW.)
