Flood Repair Project Information:

Atchison County

The following are planned projects to repair the damage caused by the 2019 flooding in Atchison County:

  • Roadbed and pavement repairs:
    • Route D - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Roadway grading.
    • Route U from U.S. Route 136 to Route E -Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. The contractor is currently completing survey work.
    • Route E - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Contractors expect to begin drainage work the week of Aug. 23.
    • Route V - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Contractor is currently making pavement repairs to make the roadway passable for winter. Resurfacing is expected to take place in 2022.
    • Route Z - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Contractor has completed paving the majority of the route. The remaining paving at the railroad tracks has not yet been scheduled.
    • Route U - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. The contractor has completing ditching and grading the roadway. Paving is scheduled for fall 2021.
    • Route A from Route D to Interstate 29 - Completed
    • Route A from Route D to the end of the route - Completed
    • Route BB from Route A to the end of the route - Completed
    • Route TT from U.S. Route 59 to Q Avenue - Completed
  • Pavement repairs:
    • Route B from I-29 to U.S. Route 59 - Complete
    • Route 111 from Route E to Corning - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Slide repair, ditching and patching complete. Crews are currently paving the roadway.
    • U.S. Route 136 from the Missouri River to I-29 - scheduled to be let for contractor bidding 9/17/21
  • Bridge repairs:
    • U.S. Route 136 bridge over the Missouri River at Brownsville - Awarded to Lehman Construction Company, project began in early August.

Holt County

The following are planned projects to repair the damage caused by the 2019 flooding in Holt County:

  • Roadbed and pavement repairs:
    • Route W - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. The contactor has completed the scratch treatment and expects to begin paving the week of Aug. 30.
  • Pavement repairs:
    • Route 111 from 118 to Route 159 and from Route 111 Spur to U.S. Route 59 - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Paving tentatively scheduled for September.
    • Route 111 from Corning to Craig -Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Ditching, patching complete. Crews are currently completing a seal coat overlay.
    • Route 111 from Route E to Corning - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Slide repair, ditching and patching complete. Crews are currently paving the roadway.
    • U.S. Route 159 from Missouri River to Route P - scheduled to be let for contractor bidding 9/17/21
    • U.S. Route 159 from Little Tark to Route 111 south - scheduled to be let for contractor bidding 9/17/21
    • Route 111 from Craig to Route 118 - scheduled to be let for contractor bidding 9/17/21
