Atchison and Holt County Flood Damage Repairs
A listing of the planned projects to repair numerous routes in Atchison and Holt counties damaged during the flooding throughout 2019.
Flood Repair Project Status:
Atchison County
The status of the following projects to repair the damage caused by the 2019 flooding in Atchison County were updated 12/14/2021:
Under construction
- Route D - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Grading, rock fill and patching are complete. An overlay is scheduled for spring 2022.
- Route U from U.S. Route 136 to Route E - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Grading and patching are complete. An overlay is scheduled for spring 2022.
- Route E - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Grading and the asphalt base course are complete. An overlay is scheduled for spring 2022.
- Route V - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Rock fill/base rock has been placed in the scour holes and patching is complete. An overlay is scheduled for spring 2022.
- Route U - Awarded to Herzog Contracting Corp. Grading and the asphalt base course are complete. An overlay is scheduled for spring 2022.
Future construction
- U.S. Route 136 from the Missouri River to I-29 - Flood resiliency permanent repair: scheduled to be let for contractor bidding April 15, 2022

- U.S. Route 159 from Little Tark to Route 111 south - Flood resiliency permanent repair: scheduled to be let for contractor bidding Jan. 15, 2022
- Route 111 from Craig to Route 118 - Flood resiliency permanent repair: scheduled to be let for contractor bidding Jan. 15, 2022
