Holt County Route 111 flood remediation project planned for mid-August

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The last segment of road included in a pavement improvement and flood remediation project in Holt County is scheduled to begin Monday, Aug. 14. The Missouri Department of Transportation has contracted with Phillips Hardy, Inc., to complete the project on Missouri Route 111.

The project will repave the segment of Route 111 from Route 118 to Driftwood Drive north of Big Lake State Park. As a flood remediation measure, erosion control is also being installed. During construction, both lanes will be closed. Motorists will be directed along a signed detour from Route 118 to I-29.

Crews began the project in May 2022 before pausing due to winter weather. Since resuming the project this spring, crews have completed work on Holt County U.S. Route 159.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
