Why is MoDOT rehabilitating the bridges?

The Truman Boulevard bridge was built in 1984 and the Route D bridge was built in 1987. Both bridges are in need of repairs to extend their life. Once completed, motorists will have a smoother surface on which to drive.

For a portion of the construction, the contractor will close each bridge to all traffic. The Truman Boulevard bridge is set to close for 10 days and Route D bridge for three days. A signed detour will be in place during each closure.

During the 10-day Truman Boulevard closure, all ramps to/from U.S. Route 50 will be open, but some turning restrictions may be in place.
