Howard County - Route 40 Salt Creek Bridge Replacement
Below are details, resources and news about the replacement of the 80-year-old Howard County Route 40 Bridge over Salt Creek and the Katy Trail. The bridge has reached a point where replacement is necessary. The Route 40 bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state.

Crews will replace the bridge and widen it by two feet, increasing motorists' safety.

The bridge is closed during replacement.
Project Milestones
The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded the contract to Lehman Construction, which provided a low bid of $6,952,040. This contract also includes the bridge deck replacement on Route 40 over Bonne Femme Creek , and the replacement of the Cooper County Route F bridge over Stephens Branch.
The bridge is closed during replacement.
