ABOUT THE PROJECT

MoDOT Kansas City will be replacing the 67th St. bridge over I-435. The project will replace the entire bridge and install retaining walls and guardrails.

The existing bridge is deteriorating and reaching the end of its usable life. It was built in 1965 and rehabilitated in 2007. The bridge has approximately 1,900 vehicles cross the bridge per day.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Crews will close 67th St. over I-435 for the duration of construction. Motorists will be provided a detour during this closure. Traffic along I-435 will experience occasional lane closures. Additionally, there will be a weekend-long closure of a portion of I-435 in the area for bridge demolition with the traffic detoured to I-70 and I-470.  Details will be announced at a later date.

CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE

Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2021 and with an anticipated completion in fall 2021.

TOTAL PROJECT COST

This project is estimated to cost $2.5 million.
